To the best of my knowledge, in the old days - probably around the time of the repeal of Prohibition, but it wouldn't surprise me if it predates Prohibition - many states required all alcoholic beverages to be contained, or packaged, before leaving a retail store. This could be done either inside a closed case, or, in the case of single bottles, six-packs, etc., inside a paper bag. (It was simply illegal to walk out of a liquor store with your alcohol exposed.) Liquor stores became known as "packaged goods stores", which was shortened to "package stores" and shortened even further to "packies". Now you know what "Going down to the packy to get a six-pack" means.
Because of the myriad state and local laws regarding the shipping of alcohol, we simply don't do it. If you wish to buy our items, you simply have to come to us.
